Review of Debilitated Deliberations on Death.

without comments

A superlative review of Debilitated Deliberations on Death in the Danish newspaper Arbejderen yesterday [in Danish]:

“Intelligent behandling af døden

Simon Gyldens syvende album Debilitated Deliberations on Death er hans hidtil bedste.

The Stoopid Old Anti-Pro Trilogy.”

Everyone’s an Idiot (Poster Artwork)

without comments

‘Alle er idioter’ – Danish, meaning.. Everyone’s an idiot.

It’s the title of Danish stand-up comedian Mads L. Brynnum’s upcoming stand-up show – in connection with Zulu Comedy Festival in September 2010.

This is the poster I’ve created for the show – commissioned by Mads – and looking like him too. Fortunately, Mads likes weird stuff, which made this assignment a real treat.

Looking forward to seeing the show!

Tarman Lyrics (Simon Gylden, Indie rock)

with one comment

These are the lyrics for ‘Tarman’ (Debilitated Deliberations on Death, 2010)

Tarman, your wife is big – so much bigger than you
And she wants you to know it too
She sits on your records giving gas to the jazz
And her rash in the trash in the middle of the metal in her sigh

Makes you cry, makes you cry
Makes you cry, she makes you cry
Makes you cry, makes you cry
Makes you cry, makes you cry

Well, Tarman out on the street with your feet
And your shoes and the blues and the blankets they let you use
Well, you mind the blind and the lost and the frost in the air
And the hair in your lungs and the stare in her eye

Makes you cry, makes you cry
Makes you cry, she makes you cry
Makes you cry, makes you cry
Makes you cry, she makes you cry

Well, she takes your mental state and she spends it on lottery tickets
And she drags your body through the thicket and the dirt
On your shirt there’s a brain and she feeds it to the squirrels and they
twirl on their furs and the curls at the end of her thigh

Makes you cry, makes you cry
Makes you cry, she makes you cry
Makes you cry, makes you cry
Makes you cry, you know, she makes you cry

(Simon Gylden, 2010)
